It seems Ron Gilbert and the other folks at Double Fine Productions have been busy burrowing into the deepest depths of design. Remember that Kickstarter project the studio have been working on? This isn’t it, but…
As of today with the cahoots of Sega the team have announced their newest project that shall be available for PC and the digital downloadable realm (most likely XBLA & PSN) come early 2013. What’s reared its head from the depths is what they’ve titled The Cave. Adventure games is what they do best and here’s another for us to look forward to. Here’s hoping it will contain a decent dollop of whimsical wit!
From what I’ve grasped so far, it looks like we’re in store for a side-scrolling sofa social with an intriguing bunch tallying up the playable character roster. A knight in shining armour, a dungaree clad hillbilly, an adventurous pilot, some ghoulish twins to even a Buddhist monk! Let me guess, each has their own particular attributes for crackin’ those perilous platforming puzzles? It may not be anything outstandingly unique but when Double Fine get behind the reigns you know it’s going to be chock full of worthwhile charm!
And now, without any further ado, it’s screenshot time! Keeping true to the Double Fine spirit cue my appalling captions…
