I’ve seen silly 90s words at the top of your Reviews, help! What do they mean?
thumbACTIVE doesn’t use a numerical system to rate games. Instead we use buzz words to encapsulate how we feel about the game. Below is a brief explanation of what each phrase means in our 7 point rating system.
A Top Banana is reserved for pure gaming genius. A true Industry shaker that you must own, like RIGHT NOW!
A Radical is top of its genre yet just shy of that gold medal. Highly recommended stuff worthy of your digits!
A Cool Beans is a healthy bucket of fun despite its gripes and niggles. Goofy gaming grins guaranteed!
A Mint is a pleasant breath of fresh air in its field. Although perhaps it could of tried a tad harder in a few key areas.
A Vanilla is an acceptably bland game dwelling in a limbo of good and bad. It ain’t no chocolate that’s for sure!
A Whack is a poor effort that is an overall unpleasant gaming experience. Go waste your time elsewhere!
A Train Wreck is a devastatingly awful attempt. Don’t play it or else something horrible will happen to you!
