Our Top 5 most played Smart Phone Games

Compulsive, Relaxing, Addictive... My favourite App of the year.

Flight Control shouldn’t be a great game, it’s overly simple in almost every manner, from the gameplay to the minimalistic graphics. However this game has a certain charm that I can’t explain, it’s relaxing holiday-feel tunes put you at ease whilst you sit back in your chair and play Air Traffic Controller for a couple of minutes to hours. The control scheme is simple but works wonderfully well, by dragging your finger across the screen you set flight paths for the aircraft, the goal of the game is to land as many planes as possible without causing a mid air collision. The control scheme is intuitive allowing you to create complex patterns on the screen for the planes to follow, even allowing them to taxi before landing. As your games progress things get complicated, you get to land faster Jumbo Jets and more planes appear on the screen. The laid back tunes and nature of the game are deceptive of how much concentration you actually need to play them game. It’s compulsive in that the need to beat your high score is so enticing. This is the game that I have played most on my phone this year, and it’s one that I’ll probably return to over and over again. It’s also cheap as chips, and you wont regret forking out under a pound for this game.  As I said before, with smart-phones the simpler the concept the greater the game, and this brilliant gem is a shining example of the law of smart-games.
